Interviews were conducted with 8 respondents out of the 25 participants to solicit in-depth of the responses. Coding was used for observation; manual analysis was used for interviews. It was shown that behavioral, emotional and cognitive students’ engagement through cooperative learning activities improves academic achievement in learning and acquiring vocabulary. The participants gained confidence and their language skills were improved. Social skills like leadership, decision-making, trust building, communication and conflict-management skills were also developed.
